Module 5 — Rewriting the Story: Identity and Narrative Repair

Participants examine the stories people tell themselves after trauma, failure, grief, or moral injury. The module teaches that a painful truth does not have to become the whole truth, then guides participants through identity repair, external witness, and micro-mission planning.

Learning objectives

  • Identify problem-saturated stories and single-story verdicts.

  • Distinguish a truth from the truth in self-judgment.

  • Use life chapters, external witness, and re-authoring.

  • Write a micro-mission that puts identity back in motion.
